Susanne Hofmann is a research fellow at the Latin America and Caribbean Centre (LACC) at the London School of Economics, and a visiting researcher at Centre for Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology-CIESAS (Gulf Unit), Mexico.
Throughout her academic work, she has analysed the impacts of policies aimed at protecting women deemed vulnerable to violence and exploitation. Core to her research are the struggles and strategies of feminist anti-violence movements in contemporary Latin America.
Her ongoing research project, studies gendered security dynamics in the context of the implementation of large-scale infrastructure construction, with focus on the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.
